Tummy loving green smoothie recipe

Its beautiful, vibrant green colour is a sure pick-me-up first thing in the morning but it’s the tummy loving ingredients that really pack a punch.

Kefir or live yoghurt provide the gut with beneficial bacteria whilst bananas provide all important fuel for them to thrive. Adding cold milled flax seeds boosts fibre intake, helping to keep your bowels regular as well as adding an omega 3 fatty acid boost. Aloe vera is a great soother for the gut as well as being a great tonic for the digestive system in general and also offers cleansing properties. The addition of lecithin is perfect for supporting bile production in the liver but also creates the smoothies velvety texture.


  • ½ banana
  • Large handful of baby spinach
  • 2 medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 dessert spoon of raw walnut butter
  • 150ml kefir or live plain yoghurt
  • 100ml cold water
  • 1 dessert spoon cold milled flax seeds
  • 1 teaspoons of natural aloe vera juice
  • 1 teaspoon lecithin granules


Place all your ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth and velvety. Enjoy straight away. You can adjust the amount of water depending on how runny or thick you like your smoothie.
