Makes approximately 40 squares
Halva is a sweet and dense confection found throughout the world. It basically encompasses a large range of sweets found in Central Asia, the Middle East, parts of the Mediterranean and the Balkans.
Made with, tahini, raw walnut butter and almonds and naturally sweetened with dates and honey, it’s packed with nutrients from calcium, magnesium and iron to omega 3 essential fatty acids, so not only is it tasty but it’s healthy too and really easy to make.
Place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until it forms a thick paste.
Tip the mixture into the glass dish or baking tray, spread out and then press down firmly.
Allow to chill for 2 hours before cutting up into approximately 40 squares and serving.
This will keep for up to a week in the fridge – if it lasts that long!
Tip: If you don’t have a food processor try halving the recipe and making it with a stick blender that has a nut chopper attachment.
